Bowling Philosophy-February 2012

  1. Excellent article, Thomas! I think a pretty strong case can be made that PDW is the greatest bowler of all time, and Jeff Richgels presents that argument for our consideration in a recent column in his bowling blog. http://www.11thframe.com/page/blog_id_4869

He bases his argument on Pete's residing at or near the "top" of the sport through more "eras" than anyone else.

Now, I've been watching bowling since the early 60's if not before, and I must admit that I'm partial to Walter Ray for his longevity and Earl Anthony for his prolific achievements over such a relatively short time. But I can't deny the fact that Pete is an amazing bowler who has accomplished incredible things with polyester, urethane, and reactive resin equipment through all the other changes that have occurred in the sport over the more than three decades of his glorious professional bowling career. And what's more, it seems that, even as he approaches age 50, we've undoubtedly not heard the last from him.

I only wish he could display his bowling passion in a manner that wasn't quite so polarizing.
